Volunteer

Our work wouldn’t be possible without volunteers. From offering advice to running workshops, there are many ways to get involved and make a lasting impact on your community.

Volunteers support in group sessions, fundraising, case work, digital communications, and more. They help us reach more people with our services while strengthening the community at the heart of our work.

Volunteers gain hands-on experience supporting others, coordinating projects, and working in teams. We welcome people of all backgrounds and skill levels. If you’re over 18 and eager to help, we’d love to hear from you. We provide training and support to ensure a fulfilling experience for everyone involved.

When the women of the group reach out to me because they need to talk about specific issues or emotional topics and find comfort in our chats, I feel deeply honoured and moved to have been considered a friend for that one moment for people who really need it

Community Interpreting Volunteer

We are now recruiting for volunteers to provide essential interpreting support to our staff and volunteers.

Welfare Support Volunteer

We are now recruiting for volunteers to help with delivering welfare support to our group members and existing advice clients. This will involve supporting people in crisis situations, such as those at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness and destitution.

Monitoring and Evaluation Volunteer

We are now recruiting for volunteers to play a key role in the Monitoring and Evaluation project. This role is ideal for someone who has excellent listening and communication skills and is interested in working directly with service users to ensure that their voices are heard and centred in all aspects of the work we do at Praxis.

If you have any questions you can get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@praxis.org.uk

I can’t properly explain how much volunteers contribute to the work I have done at Praxis. There have been many times when volunteers have accompanied very nervous people to appointments with solicitors, social services, housing providers, and more. The volunteer support provided to them was invaluable.
