Albert's story and Praxis

We are very grateful for the incredible support we’ve received in the past few days. Many people have donated to help the work that Praxis is doing, supporting migrants at-risk throughout London such as Albert.

We appreciate that many of you want to help Albert, due to the urgency of his position. We are currently consulting with him, his solicitor and our caseworkers to know what the best way to help him is. The funds which we have received for Albert will likely be used towards his legal fees.

Unfortunately his case is not unique: in the past few years we’ve seen a sharp rise in the number of Londoners who, due to changes in migration laws, suddenly find themselves cut out of the system they’ve been living in for decades. In 2017 alone we’ve worked on 1,718 cases, helping people access their rights.

As an organisation we cannot collect funds for an individual client. Further donations will be used to support our work with our many clients who find themselves in positions similar to Albert’s.
