New research project: childcare for migrant parents
25th January 2024
We are excited to be launching a new research project aiming to better understand migrant parents’ access to early years education and childcare.
This research is part of our Childcare For All campaign, which is calling for a childcare system that is truly universal and open to every family living in the UK, regardless of their immigration system.
At Praxis, we see the harmful impacts of being excluded from early years education and childcare system on migrant families every day. Unfortunately, there is not much existing research documenting these impacts. That’s why we’re starting this new research project.
We’re looking to speak to parents of children who have not yet started school, and who are affected by No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) restrictions. We will be conducting a series of interviews with parents In February and March 2024, and will also be launching a survey to gather a broader range of perspectives.
If you, or someone you know, might be interested in taking part in an interview, you can find out more and register your interest here.
