New partnership: No Recourse to Public Funds Collective Impact Partnership

We’re excited to announce that Praxis is part of a new partnership to supercharge the movement to abolish the No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) condition once and for all. And you could be part of the movement too!

This cruel visa condition effectively means that almost everyone who migrates to the UK is cut off from the welfare safety net. It’s a key reason why migrant households in our communities experience disproportionately high rates of poverty and homelessness. We’ve been campaigning for everyone to have access to a safety net, no matter their immigration status, since 2020, working closely together with the NRPF Action Group.

Along with Migration Exchange and Citizens UK, we’re part of a small group of organisations working to build the infrastructure necessary to support collaboration amongst the diverse range of actors that are already working to bring about an end to NRPF. The partnership aims to build the power of the movement to make ending NRPF a reality.

We’re currently recruiting members with direct experience of NRPF and/or experience of making change in different ways (such as through campaigning, research, organizing, legal challenges) to join the Steering Group that will set the direction of this partnership. The closing date for expressions of interest in participating in the Steering Group is 29th April 2024.
