Praxis celebrates 40 years of fighting for migrant rights!

Founded in 1983, we originally served as steadfast support for diaspora groups advocating for human rights and building their lives here. We stood with anti-apartheid activists and helped build global movements for justice.

It’s from this foundation of community and solidarity that we fight the hostile immigration policies today. We’ve assisted over 22,000 people with expert legal advice, securing their rights and safeguarding their futures here.

We came together at our Annual General Meeting to celebrate with an exhibition and panel discussion. Sally Daghlian OBE, Chief Executive of Praxis, reflected on these 40 incredible years of solidarity and looked ahead to reimagine what the immigration system could look like in 2024.

Sally was joined by experts by experience and GIANTS members Li and Swaroop, Bridget Young, Director of NACCOM, and Yasmin Halima, Director of JCWI. With Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard as chair, the panel discussed the key priorities for a new Government looking to build a fairer immigration system and took questions from the audience.

Thank you to our speakers, audience members, and to everyone who has supported Praxis through the years.
